Preschool reading and presentation:

A reading of the book, Flight of Megizzewas, will be followed by a brief interactive "search and find in the book" activity and a brief presentation of awesome bald eagle facts. A take-home color and cutout activity will be distributed.

Elementary reading and presentation:

A reading of the book, Flight of Megizzewas, will be followed by a presentation of awesome bald eagle facts and a discussion of Native American place names in Michigan. 

A take-home "Junior Bird Watchers" list will be distributed. Children are encouraged to share their own bald eagle sighting stories.

Adult Presentation:

Readings from the author's Great-great-grandfather's journal (1919-1931) that relate to the rescue and care of a bald eagle that he named Megizzewas, highlighting the bird's rise to fame and its return to the wild. Followed by a brief discussion of fascinating bald eagle facts. This presentation is great for historical societies, service organizations and business groups.

Writers' groups:

Topics may include: The creation of a children's picture book, the process of self-publishing, or book promotion.
